My sincere thanks to all of you who wrote. How reassuring that there are so many who keep eye cocked for a little gray bird and a sparrow with white stripes on its head. What pleasure they bring, a pleasure that costs nothing except a bit of bird seed.
What stirred in the tiny brains of these birds in midOctober and initiated the flight south? Maybe we will never know. I like the mysteries that permeate nature, they add to the grandeur.
