McNear also volunteers her time to the Youth for Understanding International Exchange, helping place foreign students into local households.
“This really sparked my interest in seeing the world,” McNear said. “Since 1984, I’ve hosted nine foreign exchange students in my home. It is very rewarding.”
McNear said that her personal experiences with Equitour as a rider have been positive. “Many of the trips offer riding and another attraction,” she noted. “That way, a couple can go and one can ride and the other can pursue another interest. It is a good mix for diverse wishes.
