“The Rapport ... with its excellent and timely news and feature coverage in the three issues reviewed ... Certainly the strongest performance among the Virginia high school papers ... during the last two years,” read a report from the Virginia High School League (VHSL) which just awarded The Rapport a first place rating in their annual evaluation of high school newspapers.
The paper, now in its second year was deemed "... a real testimony to the efforts of your adviser and capabilities of your student journalists.”
Cindy Cumins, adviser, said she and the paper’s staff of students are always trying to improve the paper and are incorporating new technology in an effort to do just that. They are presently looking at the Adobe Photoshop program to help enhance the quality of pictures in the publication.
Editor-in-chief Naomi Smoot said she and the other staff members strive to provide a variety of information and cover important, timely issues at the school.
