In speaking to employees of Flint Hill’s Blue Ridge Technologies, Brooks emphasized how critical it is for children in all school systems, city and rural, to be furnished with enough computers and computer training to make their careers competitive in the worldwide job market of the 21st century. He also discussed the challenges we face in keeping law enforcement abreast of high tech state of the art, and protection of children from those who would take advantage of them through the interest.
From there, Brooks met with Sheriff Gary Settle and a number of deputies. The sheriff took him on a tour of the facility and then met privately with him where they discussed law enforcement issues. This being his fifth visit to Rappahannock since declaring his candidacy to represent the county in Congress, Brooks feels he has become familiar with the community and the diverse needs of its citizens.
The 10th Congressional District stretches from Fairfax to Rockingham County, including Clarke, Prince William, Fauquier, Warren, Page, Shenandoah and Loudoun counties. Brooks told citizens that our transportation system throughout the congressional district and into Washington, D.C. is inefficient and inadequate. But rather than build roads and highways just for the sake of building them, he says there should be a regional authority to examine the needs of the entire district, taking into account the desires of both commuters and communities,
