The 1942 graduating class of Sperryville High School held their annual class reunion June 12 at the Angus Bam, Culpeper.
The class was made up of 11 girls and one brave boy. Graduation was held May 28, 1942 in the school auditorium. We then found ourselves scattered in many directions. It wasn’t until many years later we realized we needed to get together and catch up on all the happenings in our lives - so began our annual reunions.
Those present for our 56th year were Florine Atkins Estes, Grace Dwyer Gagner, Anne Dwyer, Dorothy Jenkins and husband, Marshall, Ruth Dennis Beddingfield, Roger Woodward and wife Wilma, and Anne Wood Hilldrup and husband Gordon.
Those absent were Frankie Yowell McMillen and husband Carl, Jane Rudasill Hopkins, Bertha Nickols Koyscki, and Mary Barnes Sealock. One class member, Mary Edna Woodard is deceased..
Wt will meet again June 4, 1999 with the place being decided later.
