Miss Melissa Ann Payne and Nathan Alan Cotton were united in marriage on Saturday, June 26, at Trinity Baptist Church in Warrenton.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Albert B. Payne of Washington. She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Bobby Menefee of Culpeper, and the late Nelson F. Jenkins, Sr. She is also the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Oscar L. Payne of Sperryville.
The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Edmund G. Cotton of Port Jervis, N.Y. He is the grandson of Mrs. May Hollis of Groveland, N.Y. and the late Albert J. Hollis. He is also the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. George P. Cotton of Columbia Center, N.Y.
The 2 p.m. double ring ceremony was performed by Pastor John K. Burke of Rixeyville and Hr. Jim Pruitt of Newport New s.
Prelude music was performed on the piano by Miss Sarah Galentine of Remington. Mr. Carter Galentine also of Remington was organist.
Mrs. Laura Craig of Lansdale, Pa. sang “God Makes No Mistakes” and “Lord, Bless Our Home.” A duet was performed by Mr. and Mrs. Ed Kovalchuk of Remington. They sang “Cherish the Treasure.” The soloist and duet were accompanied by Mr. Carter Galentine on the electronic keyboard. ,
