JV Coach Rhonda Jenkins thought that her girls hustled and played well, but observed that they were not the same team in the second half. “We ran out of steam, and we got into foul trouble,” said Jenkins.
Page closed to within 22-17 at the end of the third quarter as Rappahannock managed only one field goal during the period. Weakley, Clinedinst and Adrianne Moore each finished the quarter with four personal fouls.
Weakley fouled out with 4:46 left in the game and Rappahannock ahead 24-21. Clinedinst scored on a layup after a missed free throw by Page to put the Lady Panthers ahead 26-21 with 4:29 remaining.
Page responded by running off nine straight points to take the lead for good at 30-26. Moore scored on a layup with ten seconds left to get the Lady Panthers back within a basket, but they were unable to get the ball back as Page ran out the clock.
