Katharina Junk calls Dieisburg, Germany home. She is staying with Jean Lillard of Flint Hill. Katharina is a new addition to the varsity girls basketball team.
Emmi Salonen of Kauniainen, Finland is staying with Jeanie and Dick McNear of Washington. She is considering trying out for the Volleyball team.
Antea Rehfus, of Langenfeld, Germany, is not with the Y.F.U. program. She will be attending the high school for the next four months. She is staying with Danette and David Opseth, friends of her natural family, near Boston. She also runs on the Cross-Country team.
Youth for Understanding started its foreign exchange programs in 1951. Each year approximately 3500 students, ranging in age from 15 to 18, from 50 countries come to the United States as foreign exchange students. Y.F.U. also sends approximately 2000 high school age students from the United States overseas.
