Area cattle farmers are glad to see the rain although it may not provide much help for those who cut hay. Newbill Miller, a local farmer, says that this rain is a big help for agriculture. He does not expect to get a second cutting of hay. However, his cattle should now have plenty of grass on which to graze.
Cattle will also have more water as creek levels rise because of the rain. Miller noted that while some farmers may try for a second cutting of hay, a marginal crop is better suited for grazing than cutting.
