The J.V. Girls Softball team traveled to Berryville on Monday, and faced the Clarke County Eagles. After having 11 days off for spring break, the Panthers came out flat in the first couple of innings, scoring two runs while Clarke scored one. The Panthers bats finally came alive in the fourth, scoring four more runs, and adding two more in the fifth. Clarke would not score again and Rapp took home the victory 8-1.
Brittany Thornhill was the winning pitcher, striking out six batters and allowing zero walks in six innings pitched.
Lara Kreyling came on in the seventh and shut down the Eagles, one, two, three. Danielle Heiserman, Ashley Clinedinst, Jennifer Foreback and Lara Kreyling had key hits for Rapp.
The Lady Panthers hosted the Manassas Park Cougers on Friday. This was the second meeting between the two teams this season. Park opened the game scoring in the first inning on a Panther error.
Rapp answered right back in the first also scoring one. Neither team could really get any offense going, but at the end Rapp came out the winner, 3-1.
