The march will take place in the middle of the mall between Fourth and Seventh, and is scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. with an interfaith service. Dr. Marilyn Beck of the Lord Fairfax Community College in Warrenton presented the Board with plans for a new $13 million Community Cultural Center, and with the request that the Board approve “$130,000 as Rappahannock’s share of the building.” The new center is designed to provide space for cultural, educational, and economic development-related events, and includes a 1500 seat hall, a 250 seat “professional” theater, two 80 seat seminar rooms, a lobby suitable for a 50 exhibit trade show, and new classrooms equipped for music, art ,drama, and computer courses. The board can approve an outright appropriation or the retirement of a bond issue should they elect to fund the “Rappahannock share” of the construction cost, Administrator McCarthy said. “It is not in the proposed budget,” he added.
