Supervisor Ron Frazier suggested that there were some “large ticket items” that could be deferred and reallocated to teacher pay raises without budget increases, and Supervisor Robert Anderson asked Dr. Gangel “if we pass the budget can you go back to the school and tell them that they can get a 7 percent increase?” Dr. Gangel replied that he had not the authority to do so, but that he could recommend that the School Board approve such a measure.
At the close of the discussions, the Board of Supervisors voted, 4 to 1, to approve the budget as presented by the School Board.
