• Mr. McCarthy and Peter Luke reported that the remaining DEQ issue on the Aileen facility will be resolved, and that the county will make an offer of $137,000 to the Bankruptcy Court on May 11, but that the offer would subject to board approval following a public hearing. -
• The Board established May- 22 as the date for the budget work session.
• Mr. Luke reported that Amelia County requested that Rappahannock County participate as a friend of the court in its upcoming State Supreme Court case relating to prohibition of sludge application to agricultural fields. He request that the board approve $2000 for the preparation of a brief, and the board did so.
• Robert Dennis of Flint Hill was named as the new representative on the AgForestal Districts Advisory Committee.
• At the evening session, the board approved the application of the Massanova Pentecostal Church for expansion of a non-conforming structure.
The Panthers came up short in this game and lost 5-0.
Rachael Sharp was on the mound for the Panthers striking out five and allowing only three hits. Rapp could* only come up with one hit of their own, this was by Dana Caldwell.
Coach Payne said “The team really played well this week, we’re starting to cut down on our errors, but we need to score more runs.”
