I talked to Mrs. Bowey the other day for a while and she said she was a little wore out but was having a great time.
The Amissville Ruritan Club gave out some donations this past week. The first one was to Eddie Putnam of Amissville for $50; Eddie belongs to the FCCLA at Culpeper High School.
The team is headed to Florida in July to compete for the National FCCLA Championship.
Another $50 donation was given to Douglas Burke for running in the Marine Corp Marathon for Aids. The Ruritans were happy to acknowledge these fine young men for their accomplishments.
The AACA will be having their first Amissville Fall Festival Oct. 14 at the Amissville Fire Department Carnival grounds.
We are in search of vendors for this event, profit or non-profit are welcome. Several area businesses have already signed up, but we would like to have everyone who has a homebased business in the Amissville area or county join in.

We are also planning a silent auction, if you have something of interest you would like to donate to the AACA. The festival is to benefit the Welcome to Amissville signs and the kiosk at the new post office.
