Artists ’ host Middle Street show

Beads-Fiber-Clay by the Helen Banes Group enlivens the Middle Street Gallery for a celebration now through June 30. Nineteen artists comprise the Helen Banes Group, mentored by author and fiber artist Helen Banes. For almost two dftedes they have explored ancient and exotic cultures. Experimtmting with contemporary media and techniques these artists have created art jewelry, wearables and wall art in celebration of their diversity.

Middle Street Gallery is located next to The Inn in Washington with gallery hours from Friday until Sunday, 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Tennis anyone?

Anyone interested in participating in regular tennis playing groups or on an individual basis is welcome to contact Hunt Harris via e-mailing hunt@mnsinc.com or calling 987-3366. An attempt will be made to get a list together according to levels of play and experience as well as preferred time of availability Email, phone and fax #’s are recommended. Mr. Harris will also be offering group and individual instruction throughout the summer according to interest so dates and times of preference would be good to include.

Nursing applications accepted

Applications for the one-year Practical Nursing and two-year Registered Nursing programs at Lord Fairfax Community College will be accepted now through July 1. The testing, which is a part of the application process, will be held Thursday, June 15 at 4 p.m. at the Dowell J. Howard Center in Winchester. Students attending either the Fauquier Campus or the Middletown Campus may test at this location. Call 540-722-3458 to schedule a testing time or to receive additional information about this program offering.

Democrats to meet, “clean up ” set

The Outreach and the Issues sub-committees of the Rappahannock County Democratic Committee will meet on Monday, June 26 at The Theatre. The Outreach Committee will meet at 7 p.m. toO finalize plans for thp Amissville parade and the Fourth of July booth and parade. The full Issues Committee will meet at 7:30 to review resolutions from the Environmental sub committee and prepare for the July RCDC meeting.
