One of the wonderful features of school is that each school year has an opening day and a graduating day. Graduation is a time for reflection, celebration and change. Twice this week, we have experienced graduation.
On Saturday the seniors, adorned in their cap-and-gown elegance, marched down the aisle of the gymnasium to spend their last two hours as Rappahannock County High School students. All eighty four of “our kids" would be together for the last time ever.
They are an amazing group of people. Who is going to school where, next year? Where did all the scholarship money come from? What will each one of these people be doing five years from today?
Not only were the graduates being honored, but they were also honoring others. Jamie Gillis’ tribute to Jack Raines was a once in a lifetime spotlight for an educator. It was a moment to cherish. Her
