Wednesday. She was the daughter of the late Philip and Susie Brown, life long residents of O’Bannon Mill Road here in Boston.
Wedding anniversary wishes go out to Mr. and Mrs. Gregg Heflin who will celebrate another year together on Saturday, St. Patrick’s Day.
The little daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Russell Dodson, Ericia Lynn of Reva will be two months old on Monday, congratulations to the family.
Speaking of birthdays we extend wishes to those on our list for the week, including Rev. Savage on Friday, Nick Norman, Jackie Cubbage and Matthew Bragg, all on St. Patrick’s Day and to my cousin Pauline Kelchner, whose day is Sunday.
While on the subject of St. Patrick’s Day, many older people made sure they planted their potatoes on that day, but according to Hagerstown Almanac, and by the way in those days every home had one, the sign is not too good for “taters” this time Saturday. In those days my home had an almanac and next to the Bible, it was the second book to read, for my late father relied on it, for most all the signs, as he was really good at understanding them.
Our prayers of sympathy go out to Ricky Shaw and family upon the passing of his grandfather, Mr. Russell (Pat) Shaw who passed away on Thursday at the age of 91.
