Girl Scouts to sell cookies
Junior Girl Scout Troop 2329 will be selling Girl Scout cookies at the 211 Quicke Mart on Saturday, March 17 from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. Sherie O’Neill and Amo Merritt are leaders of Troop 2329.
Fruit has arrived
The Rappahannock County Band Boosters’ fruit has arrived. Fruit will be available for pickup at the Rappahannock Farmers Coop on Thursday and Friday, March 15 and 16 from 2 to 4:45 p.m. and on Saturday, March 17 from 8 to 11:45 a.m. Anyone with questions should call Sally Havstad at 987-9342.
RLEP board to meet
The March board of directors meeting for RLEP, the Rappahannock League for Environmental Protection, will take place Monday, March 19 at 7:30 p.m. at the Rappahannock County Library. The meeting is open to the public.
Seminar: Alexander Technique
The Alexander Technique presented by Karen Loving, certified member of the American Society of Alexander Technique, will be held Friday, March 16 from 7-9 p.m. at The Rappahannock County Library. There is no charge for the seminar. Join the group to learn how you can move with less tension and discomfort; reeducating your body by creating choices in how you move into sitting, standing, walking, driving a car, golfing, computer work, etc.
Karen Loving works at Rappahannock Healing Arts Center in Sperryville; teaches yoga in the community and is a certified massage therapist.
Representative to visit town
Mrs. Donna Crowley, a representative of Congressman Frank Wolf will visit the town of Washington on Thursday, March 15. Mrs. Crowley will be at the Rappahannock County Extension Office from 2 to 3 p.m.
Mrs. Crowley will be available to talk with constituents who need assistance or have problems of a Federal nature, such as with the Social Security Administration, Depariment of Labor, Immigration and Naturalization Service, Internal Revenue Service, Department of Veterans Affairs, etc. Constituents who want to make direct contact with the Winchester office may call Mrs. Crowley at 667-0990 or visit the office at 110 North Cameron Street.
