Hugh Berry
Army Veteran
Hugh Lewis Berry, 77, of Boston died March 4 at his residence.
Bom Jan. 22, 1924 in Syria, he was the son of the late Walker J. Berry and Neda Weakley Berry.
He was an Army Veteran of World War II, a member of VFW Post 2524 of Culpeper and a member of the Woodland United Methodist Church.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Claudia Elizabeth Seale Berry of Boston; one daughter, Mary Jane Finks and husband Jim of Syria; two sons, Lewis Wayne Berry and wife Suzanne of Fredericksburg and Glen Allen Berry and wife Patricia of Boston; one sister, Sylvia Smith of Orange; nine grandchildren and three greatgrandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a sister, Emma Haymaker and two brothers, Harry Berry and Leroy Berry.
Funeral services were conducted on Thursday, March 8 at Preddy Funeral Home Chapel in Madison by the Rev. Garland Hines and Rev. Bryan McClain.
Interment was in Fairview Cemetery in Culpeper with full military honors conducted by the Culpeper American Legion Post 330 and the Culpeper VFW Post 2524.
Lillian Brown

Lillian Josephine Brown, 65, of Fort Washington, Md., died Saturday, March 3 at Washington Hospital Center in Washington, D.C.
She was predeceased by her parents, Frank and Lillian Foster of Front Royal and one sister, Frankie Foster.
Survivors include her husband, Carroll Stevenson Brown of Fort Washington, Md., formerly of Flint Hill; three daughters, Caroline Victoria Simpson of Clinton, Md., Layfronia Annette Brown and Frances Joanne Austin of Fort Washington, Md.; three grandchildren; one sister, Rosetta flailey of Front Royal and many Other relatives and friends. I Funeral services were conducted on Saturday, March 10 at Macedonia Baptist Church in flint Hill with Rev. Dr. Donald Simpkins. Eulogy was by Rev. iJohn Pendleton. Interment was at Macedonia Odd Fellows Cemetery in Flint Hill.
Arrangements were handled by Ames Funeral Home Inc. in Manassas.

Walter Wayne Nickols, 41, of Culpeper died Tuesday, March 6 at the University of Virginia Medical Center in Charlottesville.
He was bom July 27, 1959 in Arlington to the late Walter Lee Nickols and Rebecca Evelyn Sisk Nickols. !
