• Lillian Grigsby was crowned “Miss ■.Castleton" at the annual firemen’s carnival July "7 by Ray T. Cannon ^president of the Castleton ;Fire Company. Mrs. B. James Moss made the "crown, fashioned after that of Queen Elizabeth of ^England.
Judge and Mrs. R.V. Snead started excavating last week for their new house on ML Salem Avenue. The architect is Mr. RJ. Wadsworth of New Baltimore. So far the footing has been poured and cinder block started for the basement walls. The house is contemporaiy architecture with a French provincial feeling. It will be a two-story nine-room house constructed of stone with a full basement.
“The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn" and “Suddenly Last Summer” were playing at the Hillsdale Drive-in Theatre for the weekend.
A miscellaneous shower was given for Mr. and Mrs. Freddie Butler on July 13 at the home of Mrs. Edmund Burke at Boston. Hostesses for the shower were Mrs. Butler’s classmates, Misses Joan Kilber, Geraldine Dean, Ruby Jean Brooke, June Sheruman and Pat Burke.
