Congratulations to Richard Smith, who will be leaving RCES to be the Director of Curriculum and Instruction for our school division! During his six years at RCES as Assistant Principal then Associate Principal, he worked closely with teachers, students and parents to effect tremendous progress in the middle school program. In his new position, he will continue to oversee instructional matters for grades 6-8. Before working as an administrator, Mr. Smith taught grades four, five and six at RCES.
The elementary school will not have a full time assistant principal this year. In order to streamline administration for the school division, the School Board decided to hire a “teacher assistant” for the elementary school. A group of teachers, aides and administrators interviewed several candidates for this position, and Carol Johnson was selected.
