The community here in Scrabble lost a driving force on Monday morning, July 9 as Mr. Robert Dennis Sr. unexpectedly passed away. Mr. Dennis was a school bus driver and proprietor of Dennis Store for over four decades, find he had walked across the road to check his good friend Nick Hackley’s house when he suffered an apparent heart attack.
A pillar in this small and dose knit community he was an easy going, perceptive man whose wide smile and big hand wave were symbols of welcome for everyone.
Mr. Dennis is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Doris Kathleen; one son Robert Jr. and his wife Brenda; two daughters, Angela Dennis White and husband Ronnie and Melissa Dennis Chambers and husband Frederick, all of whom live near Dennis store, as well as a host of other relatives.
