Rappahannock 4-H leader, demonstrates for club members the proper way to trim a lamb as youngsters prepare for the annual CulpeperMadison-Rappanannock Farm Show. The snow will be held July 23 and 24 and will be followed by a sale on July 27 and the sale will be preceded by a pork barbecue, the proceeds of which will benefit the 4-H clubs of the three counties.
County youngsters attended a week of 4-H Congress at VPI & SU in Blacksburg last month. Representing Rappahannock were Amanda Magee, Raynetta Gheen, Julie Burke, Janine Bloomer, Joe McCullough and Ginaer Eidson.
Joe, Ginger and Amanda received scholarships to the 4-H Congress from the Rappahannock Electric Cooperative in Culpeper ana followed a special curriculum on cooperatives at Blacksburg.
Judith took a program in consumerism at 4H Congress and Raynetta and Julie studied recreation for the handicapped.
In the finals of the Rappahannock Recreation Association’s tennis tournament played last Sunday on Dr. Werner Krebser’s Huntly courts, Jean Lillard and Rod Kirkpatrick defeated Diane Bruce and Bobby Gehringer in the mixed doubles division 6-2, 6-4.
