Mark your calendars for Saturday, Sept. 15 and make reservations now to attend Headwaters’ third annual fundraiser, “Taste of Rappahannock”. Proceeds from this event will support the many projects sponsored by Headwaters that directly benefit our county’s public school students.

The “Taste of Rappahannock” will again take place at the Washington School on Mt. Salem Avenue in Washington. Sunnyside Farms, which operates the 9unnyside Market in Washington, has graciously agreed to sponsor it. Many local bed and breakfasts, restaurants, farms, vineyards, and other producers of exceptional food and drink will be donating their products and expertise to help make for a delightful evening of food, drink, and conversation. Due to limited seating, no more than 200 tickets will be sold.

This year’s fundraiser will be a tribute to one of Headwaters’ founding investors, Jeff MacNelly (1947-2000), a three-time Pulitzer Prize winner and editorial cartoonist extraordinaire. Over thirty years of his professional career he became, as the Richmond Times Dispatch described him, “cartooning’s dominant force”.
