1929 in Winchester, a son of the late Edward Sherman Nicholson Sr. and Nellie Dodson Nicholson, formerly of Rappahannock.

He was a retired truck driver from Smith's Transfer in Winchester and was an avid horseman.

He was married to Dorothy Hallman Nicholson on Oct. 18, 1960 in Hagerstown. Md.

In addition to his wife, other survivors include three sisters. Pauline Dodson of Winchester, Dorothy Nichols of Stephens City and Peggy Scott of Golada, Calif, and two brothers, Tunney Nicholson of Powhatan and William “Bill" Nicholson of Gilroy. Calif.

In addition to his parents, he was also predeceased by a son. Edward Sherman Nicholson III.

Funeral services were conducted on Saturday, July 14 at Enders & Shirley Funeral Home in Stephens City by the Rev Everett W. Powell Jr. Burial was private.
