Park to conduct
field seminar
Shenandoah National Park will conduct a field study seminar titled “Revealing the Past at Big Meadows” on Saturday, July 21. Major focuses will include the historic landscape of Big Meadows, the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) camp, the creation of the park, and a hands-on archaeological dig at a former meadow home site.
The day promises to be full of discovery and adventure as seminar participants delve into the past of one of Shenandoah National Park’s most beautiful and historic locations, and explore the sig'nificance of what cultural history has to teach and what can be learned from studying it.
