How fortunate we are in Rappahannock County to have the luxury of engaging in our lives and loves and in our petty disputes without ever having to face most of the consequences of the “real” world.
This past year, 2001, was a period in which we can be even more grateful for our lives here, and it was one in which we can give thanks that our children are not and probably will never be directly subjected to the ills and evils that shook our complaisance on Sept. 11.
What transpired in Rappahannock in 2001 was dwarfed, in import and consequence, by those terrorist acts that, for the first time in our Nation's history, struck us so hard that we could think of nothing else for awhile.
