According to the American Lung Association, nearly 70 percent of smokers want to quit and many choose the dawn of a new year to try to kick the habit. The American Lung Association of Virginia offers the following tips to make quitting a reality: • Set a date for quitting - a good choice is a time when your life is most normal and predictable. • Remove cigarettes, ashtrays, matches and lighters from your home, office and car.
