It was Saturday night, Dec. 22 and the Christmas Holiday break had begun. That night, the Panthers would play their first Bull Run District game against the Cougars from Manassas Park. It was a home opener that didn’t go the way Coach Purdham would have liked.
The Cougars were an athletic, high-energy team that the Rapp side just couldn’t keep up with. Despite coming into the game with a two-game winning streak, the Panthers couldn't seem to maintain the tempo and were never in control the whole night. It was a disappointing 65 to 48 point loss that opened the District season for the Panther Varsity.
