Marie Williams

Chester Gap resident

Marie Pearson Williams, 83, of Chester Gap died Monday, Dec. 24 at Warren Memorial Hospital in Front Royal.

Funeral services were conducted on Friday, Dec. 28 at Maddox Funeral Home with Rev. Jimmy Burke officiating. Burial followed at the Williams Family Cemetery in Chester Gap.

Mrs. Williams was born Dec. 28, 1917 in Fauquier County, daughter of the late Thomas Alexander and Isabel Embrey Pearson.

She was a member and former Sunday School teacher at Chester Gap Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was also predeceased by her husband, Walter Herman “Mule” Williams.

Survivors include three sons, James A. “Jimmy” Williams Sr., Walter H. “Bobby” Williams and Thomas O. “Timmy” Williams, all of Chester Gap; a daughter, Louise Mathews of Browntown; two sisters, Helen P. Roberson of Falmouth and Isabel Butler of Front Royal; 16 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren.
