expressed support for the application and for the contributions that the Inn has made to the Town.
Mayor Willis said that he felt “pretty much as he did last month” (when the Inn’s first application was denied) and he suggested that approval of the use would bring too much activity to the Town. He moved to request that the Inn submit a complete plan for the use of the building and his motion was seconded by Alice Butler, but was defeated by a two-to-four vote, and the application, was ultimately approved by a unanimous vote. New Town Treasurer Jerry Goebel reported on the Town’s finances, noting consolidated assets of $675,330.85, down some $33,000 from that noted in June, and water works assets of $6,427.11 through the close of the June reporting period.

• Mayor Willis reported that under a new State ordinance (effective in January, 2003) the preliminary wastewater treatment design prepared for the Avon Hall property would be acceptable to the State, anfl he presented the possibility of awaiting the implementation of that ordinance before submitting the system application. !
• The Council unanimously reappointed Steve Critzer as Vice Mayor and Kaye Kohler as Town Clerk for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2003.
• Jeff Benson will remain on the Planning Commission as Council representative, and the Town Council wijl discuss Planning Compmission membership at its August meeting.
