Llamas are tough and quick and don’t usually come in on the losing side of a fight — one of the reasons llamas are so prized as protectors for sheep and other livestock. Noah held on as long as he could, but ultimately, the rattlesnake’s venom did its work. Noah was buried on the Snead’s property in Gid Brown Hollow on Sunday.

The Sneads began breeding llamas about two years ago and have grown very attached to these animals.

A note of caution from Mrs. Snead: “With this dry weather we’ve been having, the snakes are coming down from the mountains in search of water and advises additional caution near springs and ponds, standing water, outside faucets or where you keep your hoses coiled.”
