that when 13.9 percent moved in 1995, we simply moved from one house within the county to another; 66.1 percent lived in the same house in 1995.

There are some troublesome figures in the census: 105 families living below the poverty level, 31 adults over 65, 33 children under five — a total of 530 county residents living in poverty.

Other facts raise more questions than provide insight: of those 16 years and older, 1,897 are not in the labor force.

More digging into the numbers might reveal youngsters still in school, women staying home to care for the children, someone independently wealthy -or disabled, or retired residents.

But they might also reveal people out of work &o long they are simply no longer counted as part of the labor force. ‘ Of those officially in the labor force, 81 people in the county are unemployed. .?
