tlesnake bites, one above the knee cap and one on the backside of the knee. The venom was still oozing. The puncture wounds were widespread, indicating not only a rattlesnake, but a large one.
For the next several hours, Dr. Matthews and the Sneads worked on Noah with antibiotics, ice packs and cold water baths. By 3:30 that afternoon Noah was up and moving about though very gingerly. His leg was still swollen though not as badly and the tissue around the wounds was blackened. Both the swelling and the necrotic tissue are typical of venomous snake bites. The Sneads continued to administer the antibiotics and monitor Noah’s progress. By Wednesday Dr. Matthews said the prognosis for Noah was good.
