Before reaching the state quarter finals, the Lady Panthers won, for the first time, the Region B volleyball championship on Feb. 22.
To get to that point, they had to win the Bull Run District Championship on Feb. 20 at Brentsville High School, which they did and their dream to be state champion was becoming more of a reality.
The first semi-final match for the Bull Run District Championship, as the Panthers had a bye, was against the Clarke County Eagles. The Eagles did not have a prayer against the power of Ryisha Cook’s serve and Rachel Sharp s blocks.
Rapp led by a score of 6-2 and the Clarke Coach called a time out. That worked as Clarke got a side out on the next play, to get one point.
Then the power and talent of the undefeated Lady Panthers kicked in. With Anna Rreyling serving for match point, Rappahannock took the first game 15-3.
