control at the elementary school in the vicinity of the Bank Road intersection, and have seen more than 100 children being dropped off each morning in the school s parking lot.
He noted that the morning dropoffs create a lot of pedestrian and vehicular traffic and that the presence of the Bank Road and its commercial traffic will result in an exacerbation of the situation.
He said, I just have nightmares about commercial traffic coming in there . . . and w hat impact this will have on children in the area."
The eight others who spoke against the proposed road were nearly unanimous in their concern that Bank Road will compromise the safety of the children at the elementary school.
Phil Irwin told the Commissioners that they were in a position to avoid an interface between the children and traffic.
Ken Estes provided photographs of the morning Schoolhouse Road congestion and suggested that improvements be made to Schoolhouse Road
