Strasburg won 15-11.
In the second match, the Lady Panthers were a little flat and fell behind 7-2. Coach Payne called for a time out. The Lady Panthers were playing an experienced Ram team of mostly sophomores, while Rappahannock’s JV team only has three.
Amanda Miller came out on a mission and Rapp tied the match at 7-7. The Lady Panthers rallied with Danielle Siccardi, Rebecca Tupper, Mattie Nawrocki and Nicole Brown all serving well. The Lady Panthers took the match by a score of 15-8, with Strasburg only scoring 1 point after the time out.
The third and final match started with Danny Siccardi serving an ace for Rapp’s first point. Strasburg scored two points, but then Amanda Miller was up to serve and she was awesome. With 11 straight points and several great blocks by Sam Brown and Mattie Nawrocki’s awesome front court play, the Panthers were ahead 12-2. But the Strasburg Rams rallied and in the end they won 15-13 and the JV Championship.
The JV Panthers have come far — without new equipment, having to practice at the elementary school, and to have three sophomores, five freshman, and three eighth graders.
