Mark Van de Water’s approach to the directorship of the Rappahannock-Rapidan Regional Commission has already become clear.
He spoke to the Board of Supervisors at its February meeting and he initiated contact with The Rappahannock News to provide additional details for local readers on his philosophy and priorities.
Mr. Van de Water has displayed a desire to embrace Rappahannock County and the other jurisdictions within the commission's area of responsibility, and this will no doubt enhance the commissions effectiveness and prove to be of great benefit to the region.
The commission serves the counties of Rappahannock, Orange, Fauquier, Culpeper and Madison. It coordinates activities of these counties in a regional sense such as issues of tourism, economic development, employment and emergency preparedness.
