As the final major activity, he said that the commission was about to engage in "an examination of how to take advantage, potentially, of the Norfolk-Southern transit corridor" to diminish automobile traffic.
Mr. Van de Water promoted a continuation of the citizen activism that is a trademark of Rappahannock County.
He praised the efforts of Commission Chairman and Supervisor Bob Anderson and his wife, Community Service Board Chair Roberta Anderson, and added that "they were the first couple of regionalism and a perfect example of how great citizen activism can play a very important role in making this a better place to be."
