County Comprehensive Plan, which has been recommending such a survey of the county’s historic resources for more than 20 years.

Traceries surveyed almost 200 properties, 169 at the “reconnaissance” level (exterior oni>) and 25 at the “intensive” level (exterior and interior).

Each structure was assessed for its architecture and physical characteristics, photographed, and documented for its contribution to the historic context of the county.

Properties that the Commonwealth of Virginia considers historic are listed in the Virginia Landmarks Register. Historic resources include individual properties, historic districts and rural historic districts.
