She said that she found the tone of the discussion in the Rappahannock News to be "offensive."
Bob Lander, president of the Rappahannock League for Environmental Protection (RLEP), referred to his letter of May 27 on the issue of junk cars. He suggested that any action taken by the Board of Supervisors "be fair and equitable and not limited only to the most visible examples."
The county, Lander added, "must address all the illegal junk car collections in and around the entire county . . . not just the Route 211 situation." He suggested that the problem might be alleviated if the county defined the process for junk car removal and what constituted an illegal junk car collection.
A letter from Micah Solomon, president of Oasis CD Manufacturing, expressed concern "about the junk yard that is on 211 right in the heart of what is supposed to be the commercial district here."
Solomon said that many have done their best to beautify the area, and "it's a real hindrance to the quality of life here to have that pile of junk right smack dab next to the highway." The solution is that "this de facto dumping ground has got to
