Drevas will share her artistic nature with others in a two-day workshop called “Conversations with Nature.” On June 28 and 29, her workshop will “explore the possibilities of manipulating bark.”
The workshop involves stripping bark from a newly felled tree and creating objects from it.
Drevas said she is interested in running a year-long version of the workshop. The workshops are “beyond the crafting; it’s attuning ourselves with nature.”
Drevas wasn’t always involved with nature. She thought she wanted to live in New York City. She said she went away to college trying to please her parents by becoming a biologist but she got “too romantically involved.”
