The Panther athletic program had two spring teams advancing to state tournaments that began on Tuesday.

The varsity softball team captured the Region B title with a convincing 4-0 win over Strasburg. The Rams had defeated the Lady Panthers in the Bull Run District Tournament final.

Rachel Sharp made sure that same scenario would not play out again as she pitched a no-hitter against the Rams in the Region B title game. Rachel struck out 15 Rams and did not allow a walk. Three Rams reached base on passed ball third strikes. She also contributed an RBI triple to the cause.

The Panthers scored first in the second inning when Jamie Deal doubled in Danielle Hiserman. Brittany Thornhill scored in the third inning on a base hit by Rachel Gall to make the score 2-0. The Panthers closed out the scoring in the fourth inning as Sara Mills led off
