Relaxing in the shade after a day of yard work, Jeanne Drevas sits on her back porch reading Sculpture magazine. When a visitor arrives, she smiles and points to her small pond.
“This is my favorite thing I’ve ever made,” said Drevas. “It’s architectural (and) it’s in the land.”
As soon as one steps onto her country property in Sperryville on Potter’s Ridge Lane there is a feeling from the surroundings that an artist and sculptor lives here—from the hand-carved oak frame on the front door of her house to the cement hot tub she made, her biggest “pot.”
Around Rappahannock County, Drevas is known for her pottery. Over the years though, she said she has become more environmentally conscious with her work.
