When I arrived for tea at Queen Noor’s book' signing desk, I gave the queen my book to sign and said, “This is a very special occasion for me.

“Almost five years ago when King Hussein was receiving his bone marrow transplants, I was in the hospital at the very same time receiving a bone marrow transplant for non-Hodgkins lymphoma from my identical twin brother. I was very saddened by His Majesty's death because I so much hoped he would live."

Queen Noor stopped her writing, took my hands in hers, and said, “Bless you for telling me this story. We so much prayed for the same result for His Majesty. I am so happy that you made it and are well.”

Then she signed my book: “To Richard, with prayers for peace and your good health. Queen Noor” and added an Arabic signature as well.
