Glassblower
Eric Kvarnes, master glassblower and owner of Oldway Art Center, prepares to make a vase. He has been blowing glass since 1973. The Oldway Art/Center on Route 211 west of Sperryville will celebrate its 20th anniversary early next year. In addition to the Glassworks Gallery, the center features exhibits and gifts of fine glass, sculpture and paintings. Kvarnes’ glassblowing school attracts students from Rappahannock County and across the country.
