Mr. Jamieson was promoted to Lieutenant Colonel and appointed Chief of Banking for the Allied Forces in occupied zones. His responsibilities included re-establishing currency for distribution and use throughout the occupied zone.
Mr. Jamieson spent his entire business life in the municipal bond business. He was the originator of the concept of marketing bond issues through municipalities to be used in highway construction, toll roads and bridges in dollar magnitude never before experienced.
One outstanding issue of over 400 million was the Illinois Toll Road; another issue was for building O’Hare International Airport in Chicago. There were many others accomplished by the use of his finance plan. Mr. Jamieson’s vision for America was “Four lane highways criss-crossing our vast country for all people to use.”
Mr. Jamieson is survived by his wife, Mary Jamieson.
