Despite many other cancellations with the ill-timed snow storm this past weekend, the show went on at a benefit for the Wakefield Country Day School on Friday evening.
Over 160 men, women and children came and braved the sometimes-treacherous roads to help raise funds for this popular day school near Flint Hill. The parking lot and , adjacent street areas were full of cars.
This year’s event, the school’s Second Annual Art Show and Auction, had an abundance of high quality work on display, tempting personal collectors as well as those looking for an appropriate Christmas gift.
The exhibit’s theme was “Art From the Heart,” suggesting that each of the artists submitted works they most loved to create.
“Purchases made at the auction contributed in a significant way to enhancing the high quality programs and training that the private Wakefield Country Day School is able to offer its students and faculty,” said the event’s chairperson, Alaina LoveCugnon.
