Based on what people who attended the party told investigators, some of the teenagers who went to the party did not have anything to drink, Luke said. And some of them heard about the party and decided not to go because they thought there might be alcohol there. “Those kids should be commended,” said Luke.
“Other kids knew there was a party but didn’t know what they were getting into and some of them left the party without having consumed any alcohol. Some stayed and didn’t consume any alcohol,” he said.
Capt. Jeff Brown, the D.A.R.E. officer at Rappahannock schools assisted in the investigation, Luke said, and some of the interviews of the students took place at the high school.
