The Rappahannock Lion’s Club will hold its annual Bland Music Contest on Saturday, Feb. 24 at 2 p.m. in the library of the Rappahannock Elementary School. In honor of James Bland, composer of the Virginia State Song, “Carry Me Back to Old Virginny,” the Lions Clubs of Virginia awards nearly $5,000 in music scholarships each year.
